Without lowering certain settings, I could only achieve a miserable 13 MHz overclock. If not, Intel itself released a tweaking program a while back called "Intel Extreme Tuning Utility", which is still available, and can actually be used to overclock "locked" cpus. If you have an MSI motherboard, then you can use MSI command center to alter voltages and raise the BCLK. This doesn't mean that you can't overclock beyond the Turbo Boost maximum clock, however, as there have been multiple programs released to do so. The way that one overclocks a non-k CPU is simple - by adjusting the BCLK! However, most motherboards do not have a BIOS option for this. However, none of these statements is precisely correct. This is (I think) a very important topic, and yet it so often is glossed over people will say things like "You can't overclock a non-k CPU", "Not unless you have the right motherboard", and even "You idiot, everyone knows you can't".
